Could you help me please,
In the exercise about relatives who/which there is a sentence as follows: the apple, which is sitting on the table,...
I think the verb 'sit' has been used wrongly.

Hello
It's correct, even for an object, with adverbial of place.
= be or remain in a particular position or state:
the fridge was sitting in a pool of water

Yes it is right we can use sit for objects too.
