Two nouns/help

Hello everybody!
My question is about two nouns whose first noun is used as a modifier for the second noun : sitting room,gold watch.
Would you please tell if we can make the first word plural or not? And if the answer is No, does it have any exceptions?

Hello
the first word of a compound noun being adjectival doesn't take the plural. Dining-rooms, toothbrushes...
But if the second one can't take the plural,the first one does.
I don't like your goings-on.

What about( shoes store ) or ( glasses store) , are they correct or not? Here store can become plural.

Hello,
We don't say "shoes store".
Glasses store - there is no singular for glasses when referring to eye glasses.
A glass store is something completely different.
