Oral/ Myths and Heroes
Message de cloclo0931 posté le 17-05-2019 à 10:55:19 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
voila mon oral d'anglais pour mythes et héros. Pouvez-vous m'indiquer les fautes s'il vous plait?
Merci pour l'attention que vous y porterez.

Intro
The notion of myths and Heroes implies two important words that can be defined.
The myth is a story but the origin or their real we cannot know. The characters implying in their stories are aiming by their outstanding achievements.
It's the hero, but they have a many aspect imaginary, extraordinary or normal, it depends on point of view.
The United States knows the segregation since the end of the Civil War, toward the black people. But many people have tried to change things.

Who is getting into the very closed circle of great black American figures?

Dev
In History, the Americain people have experienced many black people who defend the civil right. The pacifist activists like Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, the revolutionaries like Malcolm X, Angela Davis, the resistance fighters like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks. And so on.
But all these people wanted by their actions, their words to have the same rights as the white Americans.

Thanks to them a thousand of people have benefited from progress has been made on politics, culture, general attitudes. In 1954 a decision of the United States Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional.
Ruby Bridges, 6 years old is the first black child to attend a white school thanks to NAACP. But several problems appeared, with local and state police officers refusing to protect her so that she can go to school quietly, a racist crowd posted outside the school, which is against her arrival and the withdrawal of all white children from school. Ruby becomes the only child of Barbara Henry, the only white teacher who has continued to teach.
In this way, the painter Norman Rockwell immortalized the scene in 1964 with his painting entitled The Problem We All Live With. This painting represents Ruby under the escort of 4 FBI bodyguards, they walk along a wall where the inscriptions "KKK" and "nigger", as well as the traces of tomatoes on the wall, are present.
This work was exhibited at the White House at Obama's request in 2011.
This painting and this little girl become a symbol of the American evolution even if the little girl didn't really do an act of revolt.

There is another person who, without rebelling, became famous for the black community. Katerine Jonhson. She's a black NASA mathematician and physicist. Her ability to handle numbers is beyond comprehension and allows her to assert herself. She then worked on several missions, such as in 1962, when John Glenn, the first American astronaut to circumnavigate the Earth, asked before his first orbital flight that she herself check the calculations of his trajectory one last time or to determine the trajectory of Apollo 11 flight to the Moon in July 1969. She also worked on the Space Shuttle program and plans for a mission to Mars. In November 2015, Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom - America's highest civilian distinction. And at the 89th Oscar ceremony, she took to the stage to announce the prize for the best documentary, Hidden Figures.

In parallel, Barack Obama is also a hero, but by the fact that he is the first black president

Conclusion
To conclude these women were not against the government, they only followed the progress of laws and rights.
Ruby by following the Anti-Segregation in Schools Act and Katrine by applying for a job as a calculator for black women at NASA.
These world-famous heroines are heroines against their will at first because both of them later defended and protected their rights.
