I don't know, are there some any rules to make nouns from verbs.
It is very difficult for me, because I studied English about 30 years ago.
Thanks for your help.

Hello,

to play is a verb. A football player is a noun. A game is also a noun.
to breathe is a verb. Breath is a noun, I am out of breath.
to complain is a verb. A complaint is a noun, a complainer is a person who complains.
to teach: a teacher. to kill: a killer....
to choose is a verb, I have the choice (noun.)
wide is an adjectice, the width of the bridge is a noun.
proud is an adjective, I say it with pride (noun).
poor is an adjective, poorness is a noun.
adjective + ness = noun: happiness, loneliness, dryness, wetness
warm is an adjective, warmth is a noun.

Hello,
ask your son to do the exercise, then we'll correct it! If I do it for you, it won't be the same.
a few hints:
brother / brotherhood.
pollute / pollution

produce should be in the passive voice, in the preterite. Your sentence is incomplete;the end is missing I think.

Re: Formation/words from moziriensis, posted on 06-03-2013 at 15:27:14 (D | E)

Thanks for your help,
He spent his ( child ) childhood with grandparents.( It is correct now? I hope, is! )

I have a problem with these two sentences:

The excercise is: " Explain the difference in meaning ( not in the name of tenses )
THEY COME FROM PARIS.
THEY ARE COMING FROM PARIS."
I understand, but how to give a correct explanation between the first and the second sentence.
If you have time, I will be very satisfied.

She ( have ) to return home, because she ( not take ) enough money along.= excercise???
My son wrote: She had to return home, because she hadn`t taken enough money along.

With greetings from Slovenija

Hello,
When you ask or answer a question on the forum it would be much nicer if you said 'Hello' first.
Thank you.

Re: Formation/words from gerondif, posted on 06-03-2013 at 18:35:02 (D | E)
Hello,
" The three vases which (1)(****)PRODUCED during the queen? dynasty (stand)(2) WERE STANDED on the windowsill at the museum for 40 years.

(1): passive voice !! to be in the preterite, plural, four letters !

(2) It is more complicated to explain: Look at this example:

It is 18.32 and I am writing. I have been writing for ten minutes, since 18.22. This is the tense that must be used!

Re: Formation/words from gerondif, posted on 06-03-2013 at 18:36:44 (D | E)
Hello, dida 15:
I am out of breath(noun), I can't breathe (verb) properly ! You are right, it's not French but English and it is correct!

Re: Formation/words from moziriensis, posted on 06-03-2013 at 18:55:41 (D | E)
Hello,

here is another example for active, passive:

The vases which ( DONATE ) ____________ in 1948 ( BE ) ________________ the museum`s best-know pieces.

My work: THE VASES WHICH DONATED IN 1948 ? ________________ ? ......

Please help.

Hello,
the vases are not alive ! They give nothing to nobody!

the vases which were given (passive voice)to the museum in 1948 are now the museum's best-known pieces.

Good evening,

my son wrote these sentences.

My free time
My opinion is that I have a little free time.
I get up early every day, then I go to school by bus.
Usually I come from school at 16.30 P.M.
I spend my free time at football training.
I have an important responsibility, because I'm a goalkeeper at the football club in Mozirje.
I feel good at trainings. When I come home, my important work is homework. Sometimes I have a trouble with English. I hope, everything will be good when I am going to finishing the first class.
If I have a time, I like to watch news on TV in the evening. I like to visit my neighbour. She is eighty years old and she needs a help. Many times I go to the shop and I like speake with she. She is happy and satisfied.
I go to bed at ten o`clock. So, this is my free time.

I will be glad if someone could help and correct. Tomorrow I hope, everything will be nice.
Thanks for all.

Hello,

My free time

My opinion is that I have a little free time.( *little free time means it is limited, not enough. a little free time means that it is satisfactory)

I get up early every day, then I go to school by bus.

Usually I come back from school at 16.30 P.M.
(ok, either "4.30 pm" or "16.30")
I spend my free time (at) football training.
I have an important responsibility, because I'm a goalkeeper at the football club in Mozirje.
I feel good at trainings. When I come home, my important work is homework. Sometimes I have a trouble with English. I hope everything will be good(fine) when I am going to finishing finish the first class. (present tense after when)
If I have the time, I like to watch news on TV in the evening. I like to visit my neighbour. She is eighty years old and she needs a help. (Many times) I often go to the shop and I like speake with she. She is happy and satisfied.
I go to bed at ten o`clock. So, this is (how I spend) my free time.
