Hello. Both are correct, with only a slight difference in nuance. I prefer "subjects (that were) studied" here, as you are introducing them, not describing them. See you.

what about 'above mentioned cities' and 'cities above mentioned'?
I would have said 'above-mentioned', wouldn't I?
