Hello,
I'm little confused about those two sentences, could you please help me?
Thanks in advance for any help,
For example:I'm waiting for ravi with another friend, chaya.
I ask:where is ravi?
Chaya guess:
1)He must be on the buss.
2)He can't be at home.
My doubt is why we don't use mustn't instead of can't? and may I use mustn't in the second sentence?
The other day I studied that the opposite of 'must' was 'can't' in that case.

Hello,
"He mustn't be at home." I think it is a possibility; but you are not sure about that.
"He can't be at home" : it is an impossibility because he is somewhere else.

Hello hibou59,
Okay, you mean "He mustn't be at home means there is a chance he might be at home or mightn't". right?
And "he can't be at home means It's sure he definitely not at home". right?
Thank you very much for your help,I've got that now.

Hello
we use must when we feel sure that something is true.
He must be on the bus. It is posibility.
We use can’t when we feel sure something is not true.
He can't be at home. it is an impossibiliy.
